At the third edition of the event, several wines from Carmen Legacy received high praise from critics, with Carmen Gold 2022, Delanz Carménère Apalta 2022 and Carmen DO Florillón #6, all receiving an impressive 94 points.
The ceremony brought together some of the most renowned wineries in Chile, along with industry professionals and wine enthusiasts, to highlight the quality, diversity, and authenticity of the region’s wines and reinforce their global leadership in wine production.
Seven wines of Viña Carmen stood out with exceptional scores, including Carmen Gold 2022, Delanz Carménère Apalta 2022, and Carmen DO Florillón #6, all of which received 94 points.
Produced in the Maipo Valley, Carmen Gold is a classic, elegant wine that reflects the essence of its terroir, globally recognized for producing some of the world’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon. With a brilliant ruby color, it is refined, smooth, and boasts a unique depth, promising great aging potential.
Meanwhile, Delanz Carménère Apalta 2022 is a blend that showcases the best expression of the Apalta Valley, capturing the essence of this renowned region and transporting the drinker to its heart through the wine. Carmen DO Florillón #6 is a unique creation that tells the story of a life intertwined with the vineyard, using manual winemaking techniques to capture and display the essence of Chile’s valleys and people in a glass.
Carmen D.O Quijada Semillón 2020, Carmen D.O Florillón #5, and Carmen D.O Loma Seca Cinsault 2022 all received 93 points, while Delanz Cabernet Sauvignon Alto Jahuel 2022 earned 92 points.
Attendees enjoyed the live launch of the distinguished Latin America Wine Guide, organized by Cata’d Or and British Master of Wine Alistair Cooper. He commented, “It was a true pleasure to return to Chile to write the third edition. While I have the opportunity to taste many Chilean wines back home in the UK, nothing compares to spending time in Chile, visiting the vineyards, meeting the producers, and tasting the wines in their natural environment.”
