The outstanding accolade achieved by Maipo Valley’s classic Cabernet Sauvignon, one of five Chilean wines to receive this recognition, highlights the quality and consistency of Carmen Gran Reserva.
London, May 2019.- After several days and more than 16,500 wines tasted, the 280 judges that participate in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2019 panel, one of the largest and most influential wine competitions, awarded Chile 5 platinum, 15 gold, 178 silver and 328 bronze medals.
Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 was among the most relevant Chilean wines of the competition, receiving outstanding 97 points and a coveted Platinum Medal.
Sourced from the best alluvial terraces in Alto Maipo Region by the Andes Mountains, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and intense ruby-red in color. The nose presents aromas of black currants, blackberries, and licorice with smooth, elegant cedar notes. The palate is very rich and generous yet fresh and vibrant at the same time. The wine has abundant fruit and firm tannins that lend structure and depth.
