The Descorchados 2025 guide, led by renowned wine critic Patricio Tapia, unveiled its selection of the best Chilean wines, where Viña Carmen stood out with significant accolades. Among them, its Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 was named “Revelation Wine” with 93 points, solidifying its place as one of the winery’s key highlights this year.
Similarly, Viña Carmen’s iconic wine, Carmen Gold 2022, stood out with 96 points and was ranked among the best Cabernet Sauvignons of Chile, reaffirming its status as a benchmark in its category.
The Delanz range, renowned for its unique expression of Chilean terroirs, also shone in Descorchados 2025. Delanz Carmenère 2023, from the Apalta Valley, achieved 95 points and was recognized among the best Carmenères in the country. Meanwhile, Delanz Chardonnay 2024, from Limarí, earned 95 points, positioning itself as one of the best Chardonnays in Chile. Additionally, Delanz Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, from Alto Jahuel, scored 95 points, showcasing the consistency and quality of this range.
Viña Carmen also received significant accolades through its Carmen DO range. Florillón #6 and Quijada 2021, both awarded 94 points, were recognized among the best Semillón wines in Chile. Carmen DO Matorral Chileno 2023 and the sparkling wine Carmen DO Punta Chilen, sourced from Chiloé Island, stood out with 93 points, and the latter was also recognized as one of the best sparkling wines in the country—a testament to the winery’s commitment to exploring new territories.
Carmen DO Loma Seca 2023, a Cinsault from a dry-farmed vineyard, earned 92 points and was ranked among the best in its category. Within the Gran Reserva range, the Sauvignon Blanc 2024 and Chardonnay 2024 also achieved 92 points, while the Gran Reserva Carmenère 2023 received 91 points.
These results reinforce Viña Carmen’s status as a benchmark in Chilean winemaking, emphasizing its commitment to diversity and excellence.
