Viña Carmen’s icon wine won gold medal at The Global Cabernet Sauvignon Masters, which highlights the best wines of the year.
October 2022. The acclaimed British magazine Drinks Business made its selection of the 12 Best Cabernet Sauvignon of the year, regarding The Global Cabernet Sauvignon Masters, a contest that it is done annually by the magazine. In this exclusive list was selected Viña Carmen’s icon wine: Carmen Gold 2019.
“Carmen Gold is the flagship expression from Chile´s oldest winery, Viña Carmen, employing Cabernet Sauvignon and a pinch of Cabernet Franc from the best producer´s best vineyards in the Maipo Andes”, told MW Patrick Schmitt about this wine, which also stood out with gold medal.
He also said: “It is an intense wine, with concentrated fruit from blackurrant to cherry and a touch of raspberry, complemented by layers of further flavours, from dark chocolate to toast, before revealing a dry tannic structure as the wine slowly fades. Leaving a final mouth – watering taste of fresh plums and cedar”.
To make this list, the magazine considers different wines from the most diverse origins, from the mountains in Turkey and ancients wineries of Tuscany and Chile, considering a price range between £12 a £450.
Other awarded wines from Viña Carmen were Carmen Delanz Alto Jahuel 2020 with gold medal, besides Vintages Blend IV and Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, both with silver medal.
